Some productivity hacks-
1. According to parkinson’s principal “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion. That’s why you see engineering students do study of a whole semester in just one month.
So you can take advantage of this law, by giving yourself lesser time for bigger tasks. Think it will take an hour to complete this work?
Give yourself 20 minutes instead of an hour, have a clock counting time.
Want to check what your friend is up to on facebook? Screw that! Remind yourself that you have got only 20 minutes.
2. Daily planning allows you to be proactive rather than reactive.
It allows you to actively control your destiny and channelize all your actions towards your goal rather than stumbling around in use less things.
Ever got late at home after a hugely busy day? You are tired but realize that you are exhausted but didn’t achieve something worth the exhaustion?
You weren’t out there to make things happen, rather, things
were happening to you!
You have just been reacting.
So it is better to get up half an hour earlier than you usually do.
If getting early isn’t your thing, plan a it before you sleep at night before the work.
3. Start hard- The graph of our efficiency is at peak in the morning, and maintains almost same maintain for first couple of hours of the day,. So why not start our morning with hardest of the tasks?
Easy tasks are too small for those hours.
We do easy tasks in the first hours, and as efficiency begins to drop, we find easy tasks to do, let alone doing the tougher tasks.
Finishing tough tasks in those hours gives an additional advantage for rest of the day.
4. Promodro means tomato in Italian.
It was started by a person who, in his tomato shaped kitchen. He broke his tasks in 25 minutes work sessions, and a brief break after.
Frequent breaks refresh the mind. Given that you are not allowed to distract yourself in those 25 minutes.
After 4 promododros(25 min work and 5 min breaks), you are allowed to take a 25 minutes of break.
Studies have shown that work without breaks often sees decline in performance whereas that with breaks sustains it.
